100’s Day is Here!
Hundreds day is Thursday, January 17!  We are celebrating with a classroom party.  We would greatly appreciate any contributions to our celebration!  Food items in groups of 100, food items that look like the number 100 (for example pretzel sticks and oreos) or general healthy snacks and treats.  Thank you!

Upcoming Events
Jan 16: Quarter 2 Awards Assembly
Jan 17: 100th Day of School
Jan 21: MLK Holiday.  No school.
Jan 23: Literacy Night

What We’re Learning
Comprehension: We are continuing our unit on inferences.  An inference is using what you already know plus evidence in the story to draw a logical conclusion about the text.
Word Study: We are learning the following digraphs: ch, sh, wh, and th.
Writing: We are beginning our writing fiction unit.
Math:  We are finishing our geometry unit and beginning fractions, patterns, three-digit addition and subtraction.

Boxtops Reminder
Our classroom is collecting Boxtops for Education!  Ms. Klemenz and Ms. Betts will reward the scholar who turns in the most boxtops in Quarter 3 with a prize from our treasure box!  Boxtops can be found on food products, paper products, and other supplies from grocery and general stores.  Thank you for your support!
